Nini is an upcycled denim brand driven by environmental responsibility and inspired by the personal expression of tattoo culture. Each pair of denim displays intricate illustrations, inspired by popular styles of tattoos. Beyond design, this brand is committed to sustainability. By sourcing second-hand denim and using sustainable dyes, Nini aims to reduce waste and breathe new life into pre-loved garments. Fashion is not only meant to be expressive, but it should also be mindful of our planet’s resources.

Illustrations

The Koi fish are known for swimming upstream. Renowned for their resilience, they symbolize perseverance, the ability to avoid obstacles, and the pursuit of success. They are also associated with love, friendship, luck, and prosperity.

Japanese fans aren’t just known for their beauty, although elegance and grace are two of their key symbols. They are also a symbol of life. The sticks radiating out from the center mimic the sun’s rays supporting life in the shape of a leaf.

Script tattooing is not just bound to lettering but instead has evolved into a specific style. This illustration is meant to represent that evolution with a modern look while still emphasizing the beauty of the scripted forms.

The nautical star represents protection and guidance. The words Hold Fast represent perseverance through hard times. The anchor represents stability. The mermaid represents a good-luck charm for danger. The octopus represents strength and intelligence.

A swallow is one of the most popular sailor tattoos. Each swallow represents 5,000 nautical miles sailed. It also means that a sailor will always find their way back home.

The dagger through the rose represents a sailor’s loyalty and willingness to fight. Serving as a reminder for the loved ones they have back at home.

Script tattoos focus on the beauty of the lettering and the ways they can be manipulated to form one’s body. The phrase Sold Out is meant to emphasize the exclusivity of these jeans as they come in limited stock to defy overconsumption

Pop Up Shop x Live By the Sword

A hypothetical pop up shop in collaboration with the trendy tattoo parlor in New York City called Live By the Sword Tattoo. This way, Nini is able to have a physical space to grow its consumer base beyond being an online store. This would be one of the many collaborations that Nini is aiming to do.
